Are we tired of the motivational content on social media?

Happy New Year!

We’ve made it to 2025, and with the excitement of a new year comes a flood of motivational content urging us to better ourselves, elevate our lives, and push forward. While this kind of content is inspiring and uplifting, it doesn’t always resonate during every phase of life.

There are seasons when the “go-get-it” mentality isn’t what we want. Sometimes, when we’re facing hard times, we crave content that acknowledges our struggles, validates our emotions, and simply allows us to feel seen and understood. In those moments, it’s comforting to know we’re not alone, that others have been where we are and that what we’re experiencing is completely normal, and yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

We need to normalise the downtime and the low points in life. It’s not always about being motivated and productive; sometimes, it’s about sitting with your feelings and recognising that you’re still worthy and valuable, even in your hardest moments, when you struggle to push through.

That’s why I created this platform. While I enjoy making motivational and positive content, I also focus on writing poetry and articles that speak to loneliness, anxiety, depression, feeling lost, and trying to find yourself. I want to create a safe space where people can feel seen, connected, and understood, where they can embrace their humanity and hope for better days without needing to mask it behind endless positivity.

So, are we over the motivational content we see on social media and online? Not necessarily. But I believe we also need more real-life content that reflects the shared human experience of living life, which includes the hardships and the vulnerable moments.

If this resonates with you and you’d like to explore poetry that reflects these ideas, poetry that makes you feel seen, understood, and provides hope, then I invite you to check out my brand new poetry book.
