I recently turned 24, and as I reflect, I realise just how much I’ve learnt over the past year. Life moves quickly, and 23 was a year of sharpening my focus and refining who I am. When I turned 23, I wrote an article called 22 things I learned at 22. This year, I’m continuing the tradition with 23 things I learned at 23. I hope my reflections inspire you, and offer some valuable insights, from what I’ve discovered about life and myself.
1. It’s okay to feel anxious, worried and stressed
2. Honour my emotions but don’t let it rule me
3. Let go and let God
4. Things will go in a way that I didn’t expect and that’s fine, it’s life
5. What’s lost God will always replace better
6. Friends are the family you make, which are the best type of relationships
7. Travelling and going on holiday is such a worthy investment
8. If you don’t laugh you will cry, do both
9. Money is not everything but it’s very important
10. Hard work doesn’t always pay off, creativity and innovation does
11. Don’t expect to be good at anything I do for the first time
12. I am always learning
13. Don’t be so hard on myself
14. I belong anywhere I want to be
15. Self validation is a practice
16. It’s never too late to start something
17. Life is for living, enjoy it as much as possible
18. Money comes and goes
19. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there
20. Reading is such a beautiful hobby
21. Rhode skincare is the best
22. When I can't talk or verbalise my thoughts, writing never fails to translate what’s in my mind
23. I’m just a girl
