Like other times before, yesterday, I experienced a resurgence of emotions from past situations that I thought I had long resolved. This prompted a deep analysis of my life and feelings. Each time this happens, I learn something new about myself.
I started to reflect on my current goals and visions, questioning their true roots and how past issues still influence my present life. Despite my efforts to push these feelings away, turn them off, or work through them, I can no longer deny that they continue to affect my decisions and perspective today.
Whether this is entirely negative, I'm unsure. Life's journey, has a way of naturally shaping us into who we are and can drive our desires and ambitions. Sometimes, that journey can lead us to become more positive and healthier versions of ourselves. However, it can also negatively impact our lives, leading us down destructive paths, especially if we don't reflect on our experiences to improve and grow. Ignoring how certain things in life have made us feel and how they have shaped our future can be harmful.
After yesterday's encounter with all these resurfacing feelings, I then completely understood the phrase "sweeping things under the rug." It's trying to make stuff go away, but it won't. Instead, all it does is hide things. What you choose not to see will unnoticeably sneak into your plans and disguise itself in the invisible and that is the beginning of losing control of your life.
From this I recognised that, healing also has the potential of opening your eyes and opening your mind, and that the concept is not linear; it has ups and downs and isn’t just a straightforward progression.
I began to question if being fully healed is even possible? Is there such a thing as truly getting over something?
I don't have all the answers, but one thing I do know and can share with you, is that peace is attainable, even amid life's chaos and low moments. Hardships don't have to define a hard life. With peace, you can navigate challenges with a calm that transcends all understanding.
What are your thoughts on this?
